A special story from our WWPB family came out of our event on Sunday.CJ Jacobs and his family had a yard sale earlier in the week.CJ’s mother, Jory, is a breast cancer survivor of three years.CJ was never sheltered from any of the steps that his mother endured in her battle against breast cancer.“We battled my cancer as a very strong family unit and that is one of the reasons that I am healthy and strong today”, Jory reflected and continued, “When we decided to have our family yard sale he insisted on giving a portion of the proceeds to cancer research, Susan G. Komen. He was so happy when he found out that he would be able to give $100.00 to help find a cure for cancer. Just before bed the evening after the yard sale, CJ told me that he hopes that ’Someday we can treat cancer like what we do for a cold’.He is very dedicated to helping find a cure for cancer and will continue to think of ways to raise money for this worthy cause”.A huge thank you to Jory and CJ! Further special thanks to Cal Bowling Supply and Pickwick Bowl for making this event possible, and kudos again to all those that donated items for our raffle. Our next WWPB event will be our annual Mission Hills Mixed Doubles, November 22-23.
