Charity – The National Childhood Cancer Foundation
The National Childhood Cancer Foundation is a perfect example of one of the many special charities that can benefit from your donations. With your support and contributions, we can help children with cancer and their families by providing advocacy, education and emotional support. The NCCF is also dedicated to reducing the devastating impact of cancer on infants, children, adolescents and young adults by supporting clinical and laboratory research on cancer causes, treatments and cures. The foundation supports the work of the most prestigious childhood cancer treatment and research centers in North America, the Children’s Oncology Group (COG). The National Childhood Cancer Foundation is devoted to improve the quality of life for children with cancer.
Schools –
Help support your local schools. The WWPB will donate a percentage of your sponsor contributions to the local school or schools of your choice. This is a great opportunity to help raise extra money to benefit your local schools’ academic programs, athletic and/or music departments.
Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center –
The Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center aims to improve access to breast imaging services with the specific intent to make it easier and more convenient for women to get their annual mammograms and to reduce the anxiety associated with breast cancer detection. Processing of digital images is faster than conventional film processing and reduces the need for additional appointments and extra mammograms. Their expertise in cancer detection services is defined by the latest in digital technology for mammograms, highly skilled medical and technical professionals, and input and collegial consultancy from the area's leading oncologists and other medical specialists. They are fully equipped with digital mammography and conventional mammography. Their technologists are highly proficient in ultrasound and stereotactic biopsy procedures. If needed, fine needle aspiration detection services are also available.
