On a trial basis and in conjunction with current USBC guidelines, the WWPB has opened a Scholarship Management Accounting Reports for Tenpins (SMART) account for USBC female youth bowlers at least 18 years of age to participate in WWPB Singles events.  Limited space is available to those who wish to compete for scholarships.  Only the first five (5) paid entries received will be allowed to enter the event.  Although we will allow female youth participation, we will not allow female youth to obtain membership in the WWPB.

In 2007, the WWPB organization returned to a non-professional status as it was originally established in 1965.  If you have any questions regarding this change, please contact us at

Welcome to the home page of the Western Women Premier Bowlers formerly the Western Women Professional Bowlers.  The WWPB is located in southern California where the need for women’s competitive bowling events surfaced in the early 1960’s.  The organization's original name was Western Women Bowlers and was established in 1965.  Over the years with increasing competition and popularity, the name of the organization was changed to the Western Women Professional Bowlers.  In 2007, the organization returned to it's non-professional status as it was originally established in 1965 and the name was changed to the Western Women Premier Bowlers.

The first WWB tournament was held at Fresno’s Mid State Bowl in January 1966. Pasadena’s Joni McKenzie was crowned the first WWB Champion. With impressive scores posted in bowling publications, the WWB gained much respect and thrived as bowling establishments eagerly waited to host future tournaments. The pro-ams became very popular as league bowlers enthusiastically signed up to participate.

Today the WWPB is still going strong.  Many deserving champions have been crowned as the WWPB continues to offer competitive women the opportunity to showcase their bowling talent.  The pro-am portion of the event also continues to thrive and is very popular among all participants involved.  Four of our biggest and most successful pro-ams are held each year at Santa Clarita Lanes, Mission Hills bowl, Palos Verdes Bowl and Yorba Linda Bowl.  The owners and managers of all four centers run a nine pin no-tap pro-am. These successful pro-ams are held on Saturday night of the WWPB tournament weekend.  Some of our host centers provide every pro-am participant with a bowling pin to be autographed by the lady professional bowlers. In addition, door prizes, 50/50 raffles and a number of other prizes donated by local businesses are raffled off throughout the evening.  It’s a night enjoyed by everyone as family and friends get together to bowl with competitive lady bowlers.

The WWPB is an organization comprised of high average women bowlers who compete on one of the highest levels of competition across the country. We are very proud of our membership as many of these great athletes are past Team USA members or State or National Champions who have greatly raised the level of competition in our organization.

We run six to eight WWPB tournaments each year.  Our tournament schedule can be found here on our website or you can find advertisements prior to each tournament listed in the Bowling News distributed at your local bowling center.

In addition to all of the fun and excitement, the WWPB will donate a percentage of every sponsor contribution to a specified organization, school or charity of your choice. Do your part. Get involved and help us in our journey to help others.
